Farwell Pat the Bat we will miss you Babe !!

The End of an era is upon us. Pat “THE BAT” Burrell will no longer be wearing Phillies pinstripes. The phils came too terms with LF Raul Ibenz last night and that means the end of Pat the Bat. I will list a number of things i will miss along with some great pics of the Babe. Please comment and let me know what you will miss.

I will miss the Babes Womanizing ways showing up in old city bars at 1:55 with J-Mich and picking any every girl he wanted to come home with him years ago

I will miss him striking out on one knee trying to pull a ball that is way out of the strike zone into the left field seats.

I will miss him looking at a fast ball down the middle sticking his butt out as if the ball was going to clock him in the chest but really he was just giving the ladies a show.

I will miss his hot streaks there is no better player in baseball during the months of April and May. Knocking in 56 RBIS and batting 330 and nailing homers all over CBP.

I will not miss his cold streaks

I will miss his patience at the plate. Pat s OBP will be missed he worked a lot of walks over the last several years.

I will miss seating in the left field seats after Pat the Bat hit a home run and he would come trotting back tipping his cap to us.

I will miss his under rated arm and sometimes great plays out in the field.

I will miss the swagger that Pat brought to the yard every day.

I will miss his heart and hard work that even when he would slump you could see the effort.

And I will never forget the way he carried this team in 07 to the playoffs when Chase was down.  I will never forget the 2 home runs to clinch the division series against the brewers. I will never forget the homer in game one of the NLCS. I will never ever forget the double off the wall in game five of the World Series that led to the winning run. I will never ever forget Pat riding off into the sunset down broad street leading Philadelphia and a generation of fans to freedom…………….i will pound this beer to you tonight Pat because you lived the dream a young guy who realized he played in the greatest sports town in the world, realized he was a local celeb who had fun and played a kids game. You will be missed ……..here is too the Babe……
