As of Tuesday night Utley’s flaring knee problem sounds as if it will be something that will sideline the 5 time all-star for a long period of time. Two choices play with pain or get surgery. Chase has continued to state that this does not bother him while at the plate. He has a career to think about with 3 years remaining on a contract but if he can deal with the pain and still produce at the plate as a phils fan of course I would love to see him out there. It’s wait and see time as a fan and blogger but I can guarantee one thing if Chase Utley is going to try to do everything possible to get on that field in 2011 and bring this team back down broad street and I for one believe he will be part of this season!!

Posted in Chase Utley on March 5, 2011 by nnocito5Utley was given a cortisone shot. Phillies think it could be worse than patellar tendinitis
They will have a better idea on the severity by the end of the weekend once the injection takes effect.

The Kris Versteeg Bowl
Posted in NHL, Philadelphia Flyers with tags Kris Versteeg on March 4, 2011 by nnocito5The Flyers lost their 2nd game in a row tonite to the Maple Leafs. I”m not sure if it was the Flu Bug or the guys are just board of the regular season but the Flyers were out worked and out played by Toronto. No big deal the Leafs are fighting for their playoff lives the fly guys just need to keep healthy and get ready for next months run. One guy on the ice that was playing like a man possessed was Kris Versteeg. Going against his former team Versteeg had 2 goals and almost had a 3rd for a hat trick. It was nice to see him and Richie click tonight.

Doug Collins was the best coach in Feb
Posted in 76ers on March 2, 2011 by nnocito5
Doug Collins was named NBA Eastern Conference coach of the month leading the Sixers to their best month of basketball in years. I think he deserves strong consideration for NBA coach of the year. Collins has found a way to the young players on this team to play well. He has also gotten Iggy and Brand to buy into his system. I disagree with others in this town that say we should have thrown this year away for a draft pick. I’m glad to see the 76ers fighting for a spot in the NBA playoffs because we have the right guy leading the squad…..
Other Sixer news- Sixers lost a tough one to the Mavs tonight 103 to 91. The Sixers hung in all game with one the NBA’s best. Andre Ingloudala missed a couple of big free throws late….That will probably start the let’s get rid of Ingloudala chatter again.

Chase works out too hard?
Posted in Chase Utley, Philadelphia Phillies, Philly sports with tags RAJ on February 27, 2011 by nnocito5Welcome back to Philly Sports Pride…..Not the best news to start out with but apparently Chase has patellar tendonitis in his right knee. GM RAJ is saying it’s coming from the wear and tear of Utley’s offseason workout.
All parties involved are saying this is a day-to-day injury. I’m all for Chase’s hard-working approach to the game it makes him such a legend around these parts but he needs to realize he is 32 and has played a ton of baseball over the last four years. Chase relax cuz, lay off the shake weight it’s only the first week of grapefruit league play we need you in the three hole this year.
